Jacob Harrell- Senior Pastor
Jacob was born in Wichita Falls and graduated from Holliday High School. His wife, Delaney, and their beautiful twins are also Wichita Falls natives. Jacob has been helping with the youth since becoming a member of Lamar Baptist in 2018, since then he has also served as a Yokefellow/Deacon. His wife and her family have been members since 2005, where she was raised in both the children’s and then youth departments. Jacob has felt called to the ministry since his acceptance of Christ into his life at the age of 7. He never knew in what capacity he would serve, just that God had empowered him to help others around him. Jacob’s family and friends always encouraged and taught him what it means to be a servant, and not just a volunteer.
Jacob and Delaney’s hearts are focused on missions, whether it be to the Wichita Falls community, or across the globe. They are also excited to be part of raising up the next generation of disciples for Christ, teaching them how to serve through humility and love, and how to transition into adulthood as a believer.
Carlos Gonzalez- Lamar En Español
Carlos has been at Lamar Baptist since March 2013 and oversees Lamar En Español. Each week Carlos preaches and teaches Bible study in Spanish.
He and his wife Carmen have three children, Ivan, Kevin, and Karla.
Denise Boyd - Children's Director
Denise and her husband Woody have been at Lamar since March of 2013.
Denise has been working with and organizing Vacation Bible Schools since 1998. She has taught Sunday School for various ages of children, directed Girls in Action for 10+ years, and has been spearheading the Children’s Ministry at Lamar since 2013.
Denise and Woody have four children and are life-long residents of North Texas. Prior to retirement, Denise spent 30+ years working for the District Attorney’s office.
Katie Ervin- Administrative Assistant
Katie has been attending Lamar Baptist with her husband, Justin, since early 2021 and they became members in January 2023. She was born-and-raised in Wichita Falls and graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Writing Emphasis. Since then she has worked in several office settings doing administrative work, and is very excited to join the Lamar Baptist team!
Katie and Justin have one child, a beautiful baby girl named Sybil.
